This has been the week of great new music… First M83 released their long awaited album, Hurry We’re Dreaming. Then I discovered Moonface, the solo project of frontman Spencer Krug from Wolf Parade. Theeeeeen a friend sent me this dreamy music by Zola Jesus and finally I was like OKAY ENOUGH ALREADY! I need time to marinate on these artists before I can take on anymore, unless it’s The Knife’s supposed new album. But that is another story for another day. So in the next week or so I will be sharing more music then normal, which is normally no music at all. You’re welcome OKAY.

I spent a little time exploring Caitlin Foster’s portfolio today. I love the simplicity of her designs and the anti-precision of it all. Check it out!
I recently got back from a lovely trip to Portland. During my visit I got to spend some time with my ol’ pal Parker. These photos were taken at the house he lives in with his brother James. I really believe that you can’t truly know someone until you’ve seen the place they call home. For the Fitz brothers, their home is a magical den of antiques and heirlooms. Photographs are stacked to the ceiling and I literally mean stacked. Cats prowl with an air of ownership in the way cats often do and I realized we are all poised for a photo adventure. More to come.
Less Talk, More Make! This is a direct order from the mother wolf! But seriously… how amazing is this tiny but bold little print?! It’s pretty relevant to my plans for the weekend actually, a little painting and a little workshop coming up. Also, my mom is coming to visit and I’m taking her to see the new Miranda July film, The Future. I can not wait!!!

I have a fun workshop coming up with a group of crafty kids and I plan on teaching them all about my good pal Picasso and his obsession with the guitar! Besides painting it over and over again he also made these amazing paper sculptures. We’ll be making our own El Guitar using this template and for added inspiration we’ll be jamming to some Andres Segovia in the background. I’ll post a photo of my sample soon, so stay tuned!
Well it is Wednesday and I figured I’d say hello. So hello. How’s your day going? Are you watching ANTM and enjoying some warm chocolate chip cookies like mio? Yeah that’s right, I watch bad tv and eat sugary food on the reg.

I just got back from a mini vacation in Portland. I had a nice time catching up with friends, eating good food, taking photos, and exploring Oregon’s outskirts. This guy here is one of my oldest and best friends, Dan. He’s a total nutcase and doesn’t keep any food in his place, but he loves Law and Order SVU which makes him good in my book. Not to mention he has a really nice pad with a great view.

I don’t want to brag or anything, buuuuut I just got the coolest backpack ever, the Makr Farm Ruck Sack to be exact. I’ve been on the lookout for a great pack that I can throw cameras, film, and other random crap into without feeling like I’m hoisting around luggage. Makr is run by a good friend who crafts quality leather goods and other practical housewares that are impeccably designed. Check out more of his incredible products here.
I recently broke out the oils and brushes, all in the name of love. It was my two year anniversary with ma man. I’ve been really inspired by Barry Mcgee’s newer paintings. I’m really drawn to their bright colors and precise patterning. I have big plans of smaller designs and metallic paints.
The only thing cuter than a dog with it’s head hanging out the window of a car is a dog swimming in the water. They always look so damn happy.
I dog sat my parents dog for a couple of weeks. His name is Chewy and he’s a sleepy old chocolate lab with a heart of gold. We did a lot of fun stuff together like trips to the dog park, cuddling on the couch, walks around the lake, and even canoeing. I have to say I totally get it now, how people become obsessed with their pets. When it was time to give him back I even thought about dog napping him. Gonna miss this guy.
You can’t beat death, but you can beat death in life… sometimes.

Last weekend was amazing. We did some canoeing and I finally finished off a roll of film from June. Sheesh! More photos to come so stay tuned.

Add this to the list of books I MUST BUY! Niegel Peak is such a wonderful artist. His drawings are so organic and to be put best, linear. It’s no wonder he is also an accomplished architect. Can you imagine the tree houses he could build?!
